In the book I'm reading, A Space Odyssey, the main character is a primate. The other primates in his tribe call him moon walker. He is sort of alpha male due to his physical abilities and intelligance. In the book, he isn't actually refered to as a primate. The author describes him as a man-ape.
Most of the book so far is about how moon walker survives on his planet with his tribe. Things are starting to get a little strange though. One night, after all members of his tribe have gone to sleep in their caves, moon walker awakes to a strange noise. He hears the noise of metal clanking against a rock, but there is no metal on his planet.

The book that I'm reading, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. The main characters Lennie, and George are laborers working in a ranch. Lennie has a disability, he acts like a child, and doesn't remember things well. Lennie and George are childhood buddies, they travel together, and they both watch each other's back.
In the story Lennie and George work at a ranch. They are saving up money so that they can own their own ranch, and have animals, etc. At this ranch that they work at, the boss's son, Curley gives Lennie a hard time. Good thing that they have made friends. In my opinion the author is describing Lennie and George some what like the two loaves of bread in a sandwich. Together they watch their own backs. If the other is missing, it is not complete without it.

Well I have not started the new book that i have picked out. I will then tell you about the old book that I have just finished. The book is called when I was Puerto Rican. It was a very good book. This book makes you appreciate what you have now. It also makes you think what you can accomplish in the future.
This book was a bout a girl that had a hard life. She was somewhat poo but at the same time foturnate to have clothes on her back. She had a type of mother that made sure that she learned from her own mistakes. Even thouqh she was not as fortunate as the rest of the kids, she made sure that she got the right respect. It was not a sad type of book because at the end of the book she got into a special art high school. After that she made it to college. Which she was the first in her family to actually make something of herself.

The book I'm reading, Habibi, Liyana is the main character. So far in the book she's in Palestine with the family and she's not enjoying it as much as her brother. Her brother made new friends at his new school and soccer became his choice of activity. However, for Liyana it's hard to follow the rules of her dad's county. When she brushes her hair outside, her dad tells her it's no good. He doesnt like her to make a display or wear any clothing that's revealing. Liyana and her father have that wall between them that's going to take some time to knock down.

In the book that i'm reading, Inkheart is by Cornelia Funke. The main character, Meggie, loves to read books. But one day her father, Mo, had a friend come over to their house unexpected. There the friend, Dustfinger, told Mo in private that Capricorn and his henchmen (evil leader and followers) was out again searching for Mo and Meggie. It was because Mo had the power to read people out of a book and Capricorn was chasing Mo so he can read another evil monster. Another reason is that, Mo has a copy of Inkheart and is trying to keep it safe with his wife's aunt's library that has a burglar alarm already set up.

IN the book I am reading, Contact Harvest, there is no main character yet. the book kinda jumps around in to different plots. Just like in the prologue when the book describes what is currently going on.As the book progresses i think the characters will eventually intersect and "join forces" i guess.
So far our characters are Sargent Johnson,a marine named Avery, and an Artificial intelligence (A.I) named Sif. Sif is a workaholic weho is in charge of the planet harvest trade and space elevator. Avery is a marine on vacation who has no where to go because his aunt died a few days before he arriveed home. Sargent Johnson is a Black marine who is the best of the best and is at the top of the ranks.so thats what happened so far

In the book I am reading, The Bumblebee Flies Anyway, the main charcter is a 16 year old hospital complex patient named Barney. barney is a hospital complex patient that is trying to get through life. Barney hangs out with Mazzo and Billy, who they call Billy the Kidney. They call him that because of his bad kidney problems. The book has been quite enjoyable but a bit weird in a way.I say it is weird because everyone in the story obsesses over the littlest of things. One time everyone was amazed with a telephone.Another time they were crazy over a cicking noise in the hallway.

I'm reading a book called "A Wind In The Door", by Madeleine L'Engle. The main character is Meg Murry and all she does is worry about her little brother, Charles Wallace. He is always saying things that do not make sense like 'There's dragons in the garden!' He gets bullied by everyone in school because he is very different from the other children. Though Charles is very ill, he is probably the brightest student in his class. Meg is always telling her mother how Charles says these weird things about the dragons in the garden, but her mom never heard him say anything like that. I just read the part where the whole family is sitting down eating dinner and Charles finally says it so the whole family can hear. Meg looked outside and saw nothing at all in the garden. A few days later, it turns out that Charles WAS right about the dragons ! They had wings, glowing eyes, everything he described them as. This dragon's name is Proginoskes and he has come to help Charles with his serious illness.

In the book I am reading, called, "Parrot In The Oven", things are starting to settle down-sort of. After the whole incident when dad went to jail, and when grandma died, things are not as crazy. Manny did not get to transfer to the school he was supposed to, but he still goes to the same one he used to so he has some friends with him. He starts acting quite immature, like making stupid comments to one of the pretty teachers he has a crush on. Lencho (who is sort of a bully), asks Manny to ask his brother Nardo to be on his wrestling team. After school, Nardo goes home as usual.

The book I am reading is titled Who's afraid of the virginia woolf by author Edward Ablee. The main characters are Martha,George who are husband and wife and Honey, Nick who too are husband and wife.
Martha invited Nick and Honey to there house so they all can get to know each other better because her dad said so. (Martha's dad owns a collage and Nick works in the biology building).
Martha was just talking about her son (unknown name) and he was suppose to be coming home for his 21st birthday but instead he died. George and Martha are a little wacked out in the head if you ask me but it's an interesting book.

The title of the book I am reading at the moment is Strays Like Us. The author is Richard Peck. This is the first book I've read by that author. Molly Moberly is the main character in the book, but there have been outbreaks in several other minor characters. Some of the characters that have popped up in the text are Will McKinney, Rocky Roberts, and Tracy Pringle. Most of the characters have been brought up breifly and then disposed of for upcoming chapters. Although, Tracy Pringle and Molly Moberly have become good friends. Tracy Pringle is introduced as a home-schooled girl who doesn't have many friends. Molly doesn't have many friends because she is new in town. The two immeadiately become pretty good friends.

Hello Mrs. Kaplan and Mr. Milano
The book that I am reading "The Pigman`s Legacy" by Paul Zindel. The main characters are Lorraine and John, two high school students who are best friends. They have been through some tough times when the pig man dies. It was said that they killed they're pig man, although this was not true this was nothing more than a rumor spread by mean people. When Loraine and John were walking down there pig mans house one day they seen something move inside. When they went to check they didn't really expect to see anything. When they least expected this crazy old man came running out into the room telling them to leave. They thought the old man was a crazy bum at first because he came up with these crazy scenarios that they are a couple of bad children looking to steal from him. They then became good friends with this sold man which they now knew that was not a bum but an old man who ha gone broke whose name was "The Colonial". Lorraine and John went through a lot of wild adventures with they're new friend. and probably many more to come... (I haven't finished reading the book so this will be continued).

In the book Inkheart,One of the main characters Mo is hiding a secret from his daughter. This secret is later brought out into the open by and old friend that comes to visit named Dustfinger. The big secret Mo was hiding was that whenver he reads out loud those characters or objects come out of the book and are replaced in the book by someone in the real world. Mo had no idea how this gift worked, how to make characters go in or out of a book, or how to get rid of his gift. He later found out the hard way that when ever he liked a book his gift would start it's magic.
When Mo's daughter was three Mo accidentally read Dustfinger and a criminal named Capricorn out of a book and those characters were replaced with Mo's wife. Ever since then Mo's been trying to get his wife back,Dustfinger has been desperatly wanting to go home and Capricorn wants to stay in our world but create chaos by capturing Mo and forcing him to read out riches, treasure and worst of all The Shadow who is the biggest criminal of all.

I am reading the book "Rumble Fish". Rusty James and his brother the Motorcycle boy live in a neighborhhod where there is gang fights every week. The Motorcycle boy doesnt believe in the fighting and want's peace. The Motorcycle boy wants to free all the animals in a pet store including the fighting fish. When he's almost able to let the fish free, he get's shot by a policeman, leaving the fish on the floor flopping.

I think the Motorcycle boy see's himself as the fighting fish. The fish are just born with the instinct to fight with eachother. Just like every kid living in that neighborhood, they fight in gangs because that's what the people in the past did. I think eventually the gang fights will stop but it will take a while to stop the pattern.

It is about a Jewish girl named Hannah that cannot appreciate her religion and the life she has. I am currently up to chapter 3 in the book. At this point in the book hannah is at a religious family dinner called passover. At the dinner she was giving a little bit of wine which was part of there religion. Hannah drunk the wine and found her self a little but dizzy. She was then asked to open the door and welcome the prophet. In the black boy by Richard Wright the author uses sensory details to describe what going on in the house of Richard Wright. The book begins with a mischievous, four-year-old Richard Wright setting fire to his house, and continues in that vein. Wright is a curious child living in a household of strict, religious women and violent, irresponsible men. He quickly chafes against his surroundings, reading instead of playing with other children, and rejecting the church in favor of atheism at a young age. Richard Wright feels even more out of place as he grows older and comes in contact with the rampant racism of the 1920's south.

In the book that I'm reading, Impulse, it describes the story of three troubled teens. The author, Ellen Hopkins, tells her stories as if life is a poem slowly unraveling. All three teens have found their spot in Aspen Springs, the local rehab center. Vanessa hides the pain with the slice of a blade. Tony has always popped the depression pill. Conner, the "perfect" high school jock, tells his tale about how life isn't so perfect after all.

Before leaving the rehab center, all three go on a camping trip. It's the last thing that they must do in order to finally leave Aspen Springs for good. Tony, Vanessa, and Conner were all dying to get out of the isolated building. But since the capming trip has finally let them out, all they want to do is stick with each other and stay inside. They will have to find the gut inside them to go back to the real world.

In the book that I'm reading, Impulse, it describes the story of three troubled teens. The author, Ellen Hopkins, tells her stories as if life is a poem slowly unraveling. In the House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros uses characterization to understand Esperanza's life. Esperanza thinks she is ugly, she lives through a life of hardships, she lives in sorrow, but one day she will be free from the House on Mango Street. "They will not know i have gone away to come back. For the ones i left behind, for the ones who cannot out." (Cisneros 110) Throughout this amazing story it talks about how Esperanza goes through things such as rape, trouble with friends, and where she lives, but as her mom always told her to focus on knowledge and not follow in her footsteps she led to better things. In the end she puts all her struggles behind her and is on a new road to better things and a better life!
